Full time vs. Part time Realtors
January 31st, 2012
As per, Michael Polzler, head of Re/Max Ontario-Atlantic Canada, in Toronto, almost 20% of Realtors with the Toronto Real Estate Board didn't complete a deal in 2009. Some brokerages have 70% of agents doing less than a deal a quarter.
According to NAR, National Association of Realtors only 27% of Realtors are full time.
When selling your property in Mississauga or elsewhere, you have two choices: to work with a full time salesperson or choose someone who works part time. Buying a home is one of your biggest investments and you should act wisely when it comes to choosing who you should work with. A full time salesperson has many advantages over someone who does his/her job to earn a side income. I am absolutely not personally against my part-time colleagues, I value their work and I give them full respect. We all understand that real estate career is a tough business to be in, and it is not everyone's cup of tea.
The fact of the matter is that one should choose to work in his/her line of work and give 100% to one’s own profession or line of work. A full time career and not a part time job, can help achieve and deliver the best results, this is my opinion. Having said that, I can also vouch that there can be many part time real estate salespeople who perform a much better job than many full time salespeople, who are not dedicated in their work as a real estate saleperson.
Enjoy, this funny RE/MAX video about a part timer.
