The City of Mississauga ranked fourth overall in the large cities of the future category in the first ever Foreign Direct Investment (fDi) Magazine ranking of cities across North and South America.
"Mississauga is well positioned to foster international business growth and expansion," says Larry Petovello, director of Economic Development Office. "Foreign direct investment is a key driver of economic growth and prosperity and the Economic Development Office will continue to build Mississauga's international profile as a sound business decision and return on investment."
The City of Mississauga also ranked sixth for economic potential and ninth for infrastructure in the large cities category.
Petovello added: "fDi Magazine's Cities of the Future shortlists are created by an independent collection of data by fDi intelligence division across 405 cities across North and South America. Cities scored up to a maximum of 10 points under each individual criteria which were weighted by importance to give the overall scores. The ranking system focused on a mixture of data and expert opinions to rank cities that have the best prospects for inward investment, economic development and business expansion."
