City Centre will soon boast of Celebration Square
The New Civic Square at City Centre will be called the Celebration Square
The stimulus funds are helping beautify Mississauga City Centre. The Civic Square works are in progress and once completed this new Celebration Square will include an expanded ice skating rink and a new water feature; a permanent sound stage; a re-developed amphitheatre, raised gardens, and a library pavilion. In addition, the Civic Square will have a state-of-the-art media wall facing into the Library and Civic Square, and memorial and recognition features. Mississauga Civic Square is right across Tridel Ovation Condos ( Ovation 1 and 2, Grand Ovation, Ultra Ovation) and City Gate Condos. This project is scheduled for completion in March 2011.
The New City Centre Park
The other project that has commenced is The Community Common Park (approx. 3 acre signature park) located west of the Living Arts Centre. This new city centre park is surrounded by Living Arts Drive, Princess Royal Drive and Confederation Parkway. One Park Tower and The Capital residential condominiums are adjacent to this park. City Centre Park will provide people with opportunities like walking, jogging, relaxing, dog walking, playing and activities such as Tai Chi, Yoga etc. It will even provide opportunities for events from the Civic Square to expand into its area. The project is scheduled for completion in 2010 summer.
This is great news for Mississaugans, especially for many condo dwellers in Mississauga Square One area. Condominium owners in Mississauga Square One area can expect their property prices to stay strong in the coming years.
